Sears Home Improvement – Should I use for Sears Home Life?

For your home improvement projects, you want top notch support, the best pricing and high quality materials. Sears Home Improvement, now Sears Home Life, has been a name in the home improvement projects space for decades. But now, can you trust Sears Home and Life for your home needs? What has changed and should you still consider them for your home improvement needs?

What is new with Sears Home and Life?

Sears Home and Life is the new take on the Sears Home Service and started in 2019. With the main Sears business struggling, the company spun off these “Sears Light” stores. These stores feature appliances, mattresses and other products and services. There are currently 3 Sears Home and Life stores in the United States.

While the Sears stores you may remember had everything from clothing to home goods, these new stores focus on less. This includes appliances, mattresses and the “big and bulky” type items. There are no tools, which is a huge difference since Sears is known by many for their assortment and selection of quality tool brands.

Locations: How does Sears locations compare with others?

If location is key, then Sears Home Life stores may not be your best option. There are only 3 locations currently in the United States and just under 200 locations for the main Sears stores. Sears Home Life operates in Overland Park, Kansas; Anchorage, Alaska and Lafayette, Louisiana.

The main Sears stores have a wide variety of services and products. However, the selection is nothing like a Lowe’s, Home Depot or Menards would provide the average person looking for home improvement materials like wood, paint. Sears stores will have a selection of appliances like Washer and Dryer sets, air conditioners, and mattresses. Another feature for Sears is a price match guarantee and national delivery for repair. It also states they lease some products, so this may be an option if you want a payment plan.

Sears has an online store for your convenience. With their site, you can verify if there are appliances or products near you at one of their sears store locations.

Sears Home and Life: What to know

Sears has always been known to Baby Boomers for their quality and selection. They have been challenged in the home improvement space by competitors: like Lowe’s, Home Depot and Menards to name a few. While they have undergone rebranding and have several store options under the Sears umbrella, they struggle to compete. Their competitors continue to win with the convenience of multiple stores and strong eCommerce options.

Before you shop some of the big box stores, give Sears a shot at appliance selection, competitive pricing, and repair service. They are working hard to build their brand and gain market share. Any company who is working diligently to earn business is worth a shot. Businesses like this are often more competitive and hungry for your business.
