What is Ruggable?

The website claims Ruggable is a machine washable rug that comes in 2 pieces. The first piece is the top rug part and the bottom is a non-slip rug pad. The top rug piece is what is claimed to be machine washable. If you search online, many rugs may claim to be washable, but read carefully because they if they are not MACHINE washable, then they are hard to compare to Ruggable. For those with kids or pets, we have all had to “wash” a rug with a cloth or carpet shampooer. There is huge difference in this type of manual cleaning and the convenience and speed of a washing machine clean.

How Does It Work?

Ruggable comes as 2 pieces: the top piece is the washable design and the bottom is a non-slip pad.

When it arrives, you’ll want to unroll the top rug part first. Then, roll it again design side in (this helps as you lay it on top of the rubber pad). Roll out the rubber pad exactly where you want your Ruggable rug to be placed. Align the rolled rug on the rubber pad and unroll out. Smooth out and make sure the rug part adheres to the rubber pad beneath. This will take some smoothing and time on your hands and knees.

The Good Housekeeping site reviewed several machine washable rugs, and Ruggable came in as the top of their test.

Some reviewers on YouTube complained of curling on the edges for their rugs and others complained it feels thin, much thinner than a typical rug. The thin feeling is very fair and a result of being machine washable. The top layer has to be able to fit in a washing machine. Additional padding underneath may help solve this if you want more padding or cushion.
